About Us

Mission Statement:
Colorado Conservation Trust conserves extraordinary landscapes by investing in people, policy, organizations and related land and water protection.

Overarching Goal:
Working principally within the 25 Priority Areas established by the Colorado Conservation Partnership, conserve and permanently protect 1% (660,000 acres) of Colorado’s total land area over the next five years.

We at Colorado Conservation Trust are dedicated to conserving and protecting Colorado farms and ranches, and other environmentally vital lands and waters. We provide strategic initiatives that increase the pace and quality of land conservation in our state, preserving and enhancing wildlife habitat, water quality and stream flows, and our historic agricultural heritage and scenic vistas, and tourism—values critical to both Colorado’s economy and way of life.

Colorado Conservation Trust is unique in two ways. First, we are the only Colorado-based organization that creates and funds statewide land conservation programs, dedicated to helping funders focus their investments in those areas of the state with the highest conservation priorities. Secondly, we are the only organization committed to strategically investing in the right mix of people, organizations, projects, and policy initiatives critical to forever protecting Colorado’s most threatened landscapes.
